The R&D Center for Smart Manufacturing at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) in Taoyuan, Taiwan, is a dynamic hub dedicated to fostering talent and advancing smart manufacturing solutions.
At CYCU's R&D Center, the classroom is equipped with industrial-grade machinery and two large screens, each composed of four 4K monitors. These screens were frequently used by students to present their projects, but with only one computer connected, their presentation options were limited.
Previously, students had to save their presentation files to this single computer before presenting. If someone wanted to share content directly from a smartphone or tablet, they had to set up an additional display that supported AirPlay or Chromecast. This cumbersome process took up valuable class time, leading to inefficient discussions.
Moreover, the center’s advanced instructional tools, including augmented reality (AR) applications developed by students to monitor machine operations via QR codes, faced significant hurdles. Sharing this innovative content on the main screens was a challenge, stifling the potential for interactive learning.
Recognizing these limitations, the R&D Center decided it was time to explore a more flexible, wireless presentation solution.
